What you'll see the first time

If your account is new or empty, this is what you'll see. For now, just look at the "Add an item" area.  We'll explain the other areas as we go along.

Adding items

Think of something that you'd like reQall to help you remember. For example, "Call Joe tomorrow at 3:00 pm" or "John Thomas, CEO of Acme, has a golf handicap of 9. His kids' names are Shelly and Vic." Click in the Add an item box and enter the text. Then click add.  You'll see that the item is added, and the All Items and Recently Added lists now show that you have one item (assuming you had zero to start with).

Automatic organization: Let reQall decide

In the example above, we added "Call Joe tomorrow at 3:00 pm". reQall decided when this was due and what category to put it in. reQall automatically organizes for you by looking at the content of your items. reQall recognizes dates, times and certain keywords. See a list of what reQall recognizes here. In this example, reQall recognized "tomorrow" and "3:00 pm" to set the date and time for the item.

You can also organize manually. reQall supports organization by date/time, location, category and tags. Click on the icon as shown in the images below to manually set a date, location, category, and/or tags. reQall also allows you to share items with others. See Sharing to learn more about this.

You can assign an item to a location in several ways.
  • While adding an item you can include the phrase "at" followed by the location name. For example, "at Costco". reQall will automatically assign the item to that location.
  • While adding or editing an item, you can select the location icon (pin) to add a location. If a location is already assigned, click in the area labeled "Location" to edit the location. Then either enter the name of the location in the text box or click on the list icon to the right. The list icon will display a list of your locations.

  4. Select "Add" (if adding an item) or "Update" (if editing an item) to save your category assignment.

There are two ways to automatically assign a category.
  1. While viewing a specific category list, any items that you create will default to that category. For example, go to "All Lists", then select "Categories", then select "Notes". Now add a new item. That item will be automatically assigned to the "Notes" category.
  2. Items can be automatically assigned to the "Notes" or "Shopping List" category based on the words that you use in the item. See a list of what reQall recognizes here.
To view and manage all of your categories:
  1. Select "All Lists", then select "Categories".
  2. Select "Manage categories".

  3. Enter a name for the tag.
  4. Click on "Add".
You can also create new tags when you are assigning tags to an item. To assign/create a tag while adding or editing an item:
  1. Select the tag icon. If a tag is already assigned, click in the area labeled "Tag" to edit the tags.
  2. Click on the list icon to the right. A list of your existing tags will be displayed. Check one or more tags that you want to assign to this item.
  3. Alternatively, you can enter the name(s) of the tags in the text box. If you want to assign more than one tag, separate the names by a comma.  If you enter a name that doesn't exist, reQall will create a new tag with that name.
  4. Select "Add" (if adding an item) or "Update" (if editing an item) to save your tag assignment.
To view and manage all of your tags:
  1. Select "All Lists", then select "Tags".
  2. Select "Manage categories".

Here and Now

reQall provides a continuously updated list of what you need to know on the Here and Now screen. It analyzes your situation—looking at the current time, a location that you specify and the upcoming items on your calendar, so you know exactly what you need in your current context. "Here and Now" is the default list that you'll see when you log in to reQall.
  • Click on "Change Location" to set the location for your Here and Now screen.
  • If you have Google Calendar integrated with reQall, your Google Calendar items will also show on your Here and Now list.
  • Items on the Here and Now screen also are linked to related items in your reQall account or in Evernote. Mouse over an item. Click on the "Related" button to see those items.

Here are some examples of how you can use the location aspect of Here and Now on the web:
  • Create a "computer" or "online" location for use with reQall on the web.
  • Change the location to places you're going so that you can see a list before you leave your computer. For example, you could set it to "Downtown" and see the errands that you need to run while you're out.
Note: You need a reQall Pro account for all location functionality.
