Getting Started:  What reQall understands

reQall automatically organizes for you by looking at the content of your items. reQall understands dates, times, recurring dates, and current keywords. Except where noted, reQall can understand these terms in items created by voice or text.

The keywords that reQall understands include:

'Buy' Anywhere in the item Adds the item to your Shopping list.

'Note' First word Creates a note.

Dates/Times

reQall understands many different forms of dates and times, including:
  • Days of the week ("Monday", "Thursday")
  • Dates ("January 11", "August 31st", "February 28, 2012")
  • "Today", "tomorrow", and "yesterday"
  • "This Thursday" (the first Thursday that occurs after today)
  • "Next Thursday" (The second Thursday that occurs after today)
  • Times such as 10:30, 10:30 p.m., 8 am

Recurring dates include phrases such as "every Friday", "each year on September 15th", and "every month on the second Tuesday". reQall requires recurring dates to follow these rules:
  • The recurring date must be at the end of the item.
  • You must start the phrase with "each" or "every" followed by a period of time or a day of the week.
  • You can add a time after the phrase. For example, "every Friday at 7:30 pm".
  • You can add an end date at the end of the phrase, using the word "until". For example, "every Friday at 7:30 pm until August 10th".

NOTES:
  • If an item has a date but no time, it is created at 9:00 a.m. unless the date is today. Items for today are scheduled 3 hours in the future.
  • If an item has a time but no date, it is created for today, even if the time has already passed.
  • If a time doesn't have a.m./p.m., times from 7:00 to 11:59 are assumed to be a.m. Times from 12:00 (noon) to 6:59 are assumed to be p.m.
  • Numbers like 7:15 must have a colon to be recognized as a time. Numbers like 8 must have a.m. or p.m. to be recognized as a time.
  • Use two periods (a.m. or p.m.) or no periods (am or pm).

Stripping keywords

Some users would prefer to remove the keywords that reQall uses to organize their items. To set this:
  1. Click on "Settings" in the upper right.
  2. Click on "Organizing" on the tabs on the left.
  3. Check on the box labeled "Strip Keywords".
Here's an example of how this works. If you say "Meet with John tomorrow at 3 pm at work" your item will become "John".
